Jacob slept through the night, for which I am grateful. He went to sleep around 7, I woke him up at 9 to feed him and he was out from 10pm until 6:30am, when we heard his “good morning” (aka I’m hungry, FEED ME!) cry.
Alisha’s picture day at school is today, in casual dress. Alisha loves selecting outfits for these casual days. I actually love the whole school uniform concept because it saves me from having to battle with Alisha every day about what outfit she’s going to wear. Oh yes, the clothes drama starts this early!
It’s hard to believe it’s March. Actually, I think we change our clocks this coming weekend? Spring forward – oh no, I hate losing sleep!
Alisha gave up ice cream and candy for Lent and it’s been really tough. Every other day she talks about switching from ice cream to something else. I told her she can’t just change her mind once she’s made it up! I gave up ice cream and beef. I know, I don’t each much beef but I had to think of 2 things since Alisha came up with 2 things. There’s no way I could give up chicken since I don’t eat any fish except for kingfish and fried fish (think butterfish), plus I don’t live at home where my mom can cater to my needs. Back in the day I used to give up meat, and I basically ate fish curry every single day!
Back to AMK, she’s doing absolutely fantastic in 1st grade. She got straight A’s on her last report card. Sanjay’s convinced she’s “gifted”. If so, she got it from his side, since he and his brothers all qualified for educational enrichment. As for me, I’m your basic slightly-above-average student. I’ve always needed to study to get good grades. My best subjects were Spanish and chorus and I married a math major who can’t hold a note. So combine the two and we get a smart girl who can sing :) I wonder who Jacob will be like? So far he’s nothing like his big sis except for his absolutely adorable smile.
Which reminds me, Jacob still has zero teeth and his favorite pastime is drooling all over our floors. If we had carpet we wouldn’t notice it, but on wood it’s very obvious. He also likes to put his hands in his drool puddles and spread it around. Then he crawls through it and “cleans” our floor with it. Nice, huh!
Anyway, I’m in the midst of spring cleaning. When we moved into our house, I put a lot of stuff in closets just to get them out of the way. Then there was pregnancy and Jacob’s birth and the clothes and baby stuff started piling up. Right now I’m working on the upstairs guest closet. I have already started piles for donation; I’m getting rid of a LOT and it feels really good! My goal is to have every closet organized by the end of...spring? Sounds ambitious but let’s see what I can accomplish!
